Conferences and Seminars
KIORCC is determined to establish opportunities for knowledge-sharing among players in the offshore plant service industry. Through conferences and seminars, KIORCC aims to provide a platform for industry stakeholders to gather and discuss key aspects of the field with experienced professionals of specific topics. Throughout the years, KIORCC has been successfully facilitating various programs, which included the participation of representatives from both government and business levels.
KIORCC, along with the Korea Maritime and Ocean University (KMOU) organized a capacity-building seminar titled “From Shore to Horizon: Embracing Offshore Energy for Archipelagic Development”. This event was also hosted by the Korea Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries (KMOF); the Coordinating Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Investments, Republic of Indonesia (CMMAI); and the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries, Republic of Indonesia (MMAF).
The seminar consisted of five sessions surrounding the offshore energy and decommissioning sector, covering the topics of decommissioning and reutilization of abandoned offshore platforms; the Attaka Rig-to-Reef Pilot Project artificial reef updates; the LNG value chain and cold energy utilization for cold storage; the reutilization of abandoned offshore platforms as LNG regasification terminals; and the process of reutilization of abandoned offshore platforms as carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS) facilities.
The Korean Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries (KMOF) along with KIORCC hosted and arranged the Korea-Indonesia Offshore Plant Service Industry Business Week (“Offshore Business Week”) in Busan. This event invited key government institutions and industry players of both nations and facilitated networking opportunities, project and technology promotions, and potential collaborations in related fields.
The Offshore Business Week consisted of various events, including a Deputy Dialogue, Offshore Forum, Conference, business-to-business (B2B) matching, and site visits for the visiting Indonesian Delegation. Government discussions included topics in potential collaborations in the energy field, comprising of decommissioning; offshore platform reutilization such as Rig-to-CCS, and Rig-to-LNG Terminal; and gas infrastructure development, among others. These evens are hoped to hopes to increase industry and government collaborations in the offshore plant service industry of both nations.
