14 November 2025 – A site visit was recently conducted to the Kepodang Field as part of the Decommissioning Feasibility Study of Oil and Gas Offshore Platforms by Re-utilization Method, focusing on the WHM-A (Central Processing Platform). The visit marked an important step in assessing the technical feasibility of reusing existing offshore infrastructure for future energy applications.

The visit was carried out together with Saka Energy management reflecting strong engagement from the asset owner at the decision-making level. The delegation departed from Juanda International Airport and proceeded to the offshore location to gain first-hand understanding of the platform condition, surrounding facilities, and operational context of the Kepodang Field.

During the visit, PIELDS Engineering and GasEntec (GET) also conducted technical checks on existing pipeline infrastructure that could potentially serve as a connection point from a barge-based facility for a 20 MMSCFD pilot project. The assessment focused on pipeline routing, proximity to the platform, and overall suitability to support a re-utilization concept as part of the decommissioning feasibility study.

The site visit provided valuable on-site insights that will support further technical evaluation and scenario development for the WHM-A platform. The findings from this visit are expected to contribute to a more comprehensive understanding of how offshore platforms in the Kepodang Field can be repurposed in a safe, efficient, and economically viable manner as part of the decommissioning and re-utilization strategy.
