2 October 2025 – The National Korea Maritime and Ocean University has successfully hosted an invitational training program in Korea on the Offshore Service Industry for a selected delegation consisting of government personnel from the Republic of Indonesia. This training program is part of an Official Development Assistance (ODA) approved by the government of the Republic of Korea in early 2025, entitled the “Indonesian Eco-Friendly Offshore Plant Service Industry Capacity Building Project”.

This ODA aims to support the development of Indonesia’s skilled professionals on the technical and policy levels, working in the offshore plant service industry, consisting of seafarer training to government personnel training, and education.
The invitational training program was held between 24 September 2025 until 2 October 2025 in Seoul and Busan, which was joined by the Head of LEMIGAS, as well as other policy analysts and experts from the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries and the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs. Courses in the program covered leadership and management, offshore industry trends and development, blue carbon, and introduction to the KMOU training facilities. The delegation had opportunities to experience cultural introductions to Korea through food and other historical site visits.

This training program was well received by the delegation to support the development of the offshore plant service industry in Indonesia. The ODA program will run in Indonesia until 2029, with other training opportunities planned to be held in 2026, along with the commencement of Master’s and Doctoral scholarship opportunities.
