22 May 2025 – During a visit to Jakarta to follow up on matters relating to the implementation of ongoing Government-to-Government projects between South Korea and Indonesia, representatives of the implementing parties of The Indonesian Eco-Friendly Offshore Plant Service Industry Capacity Building Project Official Development Assistance Proposal (ODA Project) conducted a site visit to the Jakarta Maritime College/Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Pelayaran Jakara (STIP Jakarta).
The ODA Projects consists of two components which include capacity building for government personnel specializing in offshore policies, as well as LNG handling training and certification for seafarers. During the site visit to STIP Jakarta for the latter component, the program management and implementor from the Korean side, namely from the National Korea Maritime and Ocean University Business Research Education Support Center (BRES Center) and Konsberg Maritime Korea, evaluated the campus space, facilities, and needs of STIP Jakarta.
During the meeting, the participating stakeholders represented by the Director General of BRES Center, Prof. Dr. Oh Jinseok, and the Principal of STIP Jakarta, Capt. Tri Cahyadi, discussed the current updates on the program development and equipment procurement process. The Konsberg Maritime Korea and STIP Jakarta teams also discussed simulator models and specifications for the training programs.
KIORCC has been supporting the development of this ODA program from its inception to its proposal development. Proposed previously by the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investments, supported by the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Ministry of Transportation, and endorsed by BAPPENAS, this funding proposal was approved by the Government of Korea in 2025 and will be implemented until 2029.
