12 May 2026 – The Korea-Indonesia Offshore Research Cooperation Center (KIORCC) and Sekwang Engineering Co., Ltd., in collaboration with PT Pertamina (Persero), PT Pertamina Hulu Energi (PHE), and PT Pertamina Hulu Energi ONWJ (PHE ONWJ), successfully conducted a follow-up site visit to the PAPA Central Platform (PCP) as part of the implementation of the Joint Study Agreement (JSA) for the Decommissioning Feasibility Study of Oil and Gas Offshore Platforms through Re-utilization Methods.
The visit was once again made possible through the strong commitment and support of PT Pertamina and its subsidiaries, allowing Sekwang Engineering Co., Ltd.’s team to further inspect the structural integrity of the platform. The information collected during the visit will play an important role in advancing the engineering study for platform reutilization options, including applications for a Rig-to-LNG Regasification Terminal.

On the same occasion, KIORCC also conveyed the latest developments regarding the initiative from both the government and business sectors, with a strong emphasis on completing the legal agreements related to the initiative within this year. With this major milestone now completed, the realization of the project is one step closer.
KIORCC, with its support of the offshore plant service industry between Korea and Indonesia, will continue to facilitate B2B and G2G discussions and initiatives for the development of Indonesia’s decommissioning sector.
