21 February 2025 – KIORCC held a strategic meeting with the Head of SKK Migas (Indonesia’s Special Task Force for Upstream Oil and Gas Business Activities), Mr. Djoko Siswanto, on Friday, February 21, 2025, to discuss ongoing cooperation in advancing sustainable energy solutions.

KIORCC shared updates on key initiatives, including Rig Reutilization projects (Rig-to-LNG and Rig-to-CCS), flare gas utilization from upstream oil and gas activities, decommissioning plan for abandoned platforms, and ADB-Karbon Korea Capacity Building on Carbon Capture Storage in Indonesia.

In addition, KIORCC also highlighted Official Development Assistance (ODA) programs, offering scholarships for Indonesian government officials to pursue master’s or doctoral studies in Korea, promoting long-term skill development and bilateral cooperation.

SKK Migas expressed strong support for these initiatives and a commitment to continued collaboration, recognizing the importance of innovation and partnership in driving the energy sector in Indonesia. It was also acknowledged that Mr. Djoko, serving as an advisory committee member of KIORCC since 2023, has played a key role in offering insightful advice on KIORCC’s initiatives, further enhancing the partnership between both organizations.
