19 October 2023 – An end-of-program gathering was held in the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (MMAF) for KMOUC’s Korean Language Course. This course was joined by personnel of various institutions affiliated with KMOUC’s activities, including the MMAF; the Coordinating Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Investments; the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources; SKK Migas; PLN; PLN EPI; and PGN.
This program was conducted in commemoration of the 50 years of Korea and Indonesia bilateral relations to help enhance the communication of Indonesian and Korean partners supported by KMOUC and MMAF. This course lets the participants acquire the basics of the Korean language and basic knowledge of Korean culture. The course was completed in a hybrid format and provided a basic curriculum over a study period of four months. In completing the courses, the language students took part in both mid and final tests in order to receive their language certificates. Additionally, extra prizes were gifted for the best-scoring students of the program.
The end-of-program gathering was attended by a number of the participating students; along with KMOUC Director, Mr. Cho IlHyung, and also the Director of Marine Spatial Management, Dr. Miftahul Huda. Students were very pleased with the program and have shared their contentment with the linguistic and cultural information learned over the months. Furthermore, multiple students voiced their interest in continuing to learn the Korean language.
Like the students, KMOUC and MMAF are very pleased with the outcome of the program. KMOUC extends its gratitude to the students and their passion for participating in the course, and also to Ms. Selena Ko, the language instructor of the program for her dedication to teaching.
