KMOUC Organizes LNG Value Chain Expert Training Program

30 October 2023 – The Korea Maritime and Ocean University Consortium (KMOUC) successfully completed organizing its first LNG Value Chain Expert Training program in Busan, South Korea. This training program spanned a period of seven days and provided detailed and tailored training courses to cultivate experts in the related offshore field workforce. KMOUC further arranged site visits to LNG-related facilities in Korea.

For this first training program, KMOUC welcomed the participation of representatives of various companies, such as Bahtera Adi Guna, Nusantara Regas, PLN Enjiniring, Artha Prima Energi, Energasindo Heksa Karya, Perta Arun Gas, APCA/KPMOG, PLN GG, Pertamina Gas, PT PGN LNG Indonesia, PGASOL, and Gas Solution.

The first training day included seminars on the SSLNG value chain, cold energy utilization, and LNG facilities, along with site visits to the KOGAS Pyeongataek Terminal and the Korea Superfreeze warehouse. Site visits in the following days included the facilities of DaeHeung Industrial Gas, Samsung Heavy Industry Shipyard, KOMARINE, and Marine SW ICT Center.

An abundant agenda of LNG value chain expert training courses was also arranged for the program, such as liquefaction technology; FSRU and regasification technology; electric propulsion systems for autonomous ships; LNG cargo; LNG loading and unloading; LNG cargo handling; LNG cargo machinery operation and maintenance; and LNG FGSS and bunkering. On top of the training program agenda, KMOUC also facilitated cultural visits for the participants to understand Korean culture and history.

This first LNG Value Chain Expert Training program was well accepted by the involved companies, as it provided valuable knowledge and experiences for the participating Indonesian experts to excel in their fields and industries. KMOUC hopes to continue to organize training programs in Korea for Indonesian companies, expanding to other subjects within the offshore sector.
